Accessibility Statement for Resimion & the Resimion App

Resimion Limited is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone, and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

In summary, our current accessibility support status is:

  • Student/Learner Web Application (for running Scenarios) – WCAG 2.1 with exceptions
  • Lecturer/Trainer Design Application – WCAG 2.1 with exceptions
  • Resimion Website – not supported whilst we change our 3rd party technology to offer support
  • Resimion Mobile Phone App – partial support, but not formally evaluated. Pending a new application release over Summer 2021.

Measures to support accessibility

Resimion Limited takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of Resimion App:

  • Include accessibility as part of our mission statement.
  • Provide continual accessibility training for our staff.
  • Assign clear accessibility targets and responsibilities.
  • Engage with students for active feedback on our products (with 1:1 interviews if possible)
  • Engage with lecturers/designers during Scenario design and communicate accessibility and inclusivity ideas

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Resimion App is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

Additional accessibility considerations

Resimion itself is a platform that facilitates scenario based learning. The delivery platform used by students/learners is currently at WCAG 2.1 AA (with a few remaining partial exceptions), however we are working on ways to make it clear to lecturers/designers/trainers how to make the content they specify WCAG 2.1 AAA compliant. We aim to remove these exceptions once we have this recommendation/compliance for our scenario designer users.

Compatibility with browsers and assistive technology

Resimion App is designed to be compatible with assistive technologies.

Resimion App is not compatible with:

  • Internet Explorer or versions of firefox or chrome older than 2 years

Accessibility of Resimion App relies on the following technologies to work with the particular combination of web browser and any assistive technologies or plugins installed on your computer:

  • HTML
  • CSS
  • JavaScript

These technologies are relied upon for conformance with the accessibility standards used.

Limitations and alternatives

Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility of Resimion App, there may be some limitations. Below is a description of known limitations, and potential solutions. Please contact us if you observe an issue not listed below.

Known limitations for Resimion App:

  1. Scenario Designer for Trainers/Lecturers: We do not highlight or advise whether a scenario meets the needs of WCAG because We cannot ensure a lecturer or trainer does not design a scenario that does not meet WCAG guidelines automatically. We are working on features to automatically assess the actions and content that lecturers/trainers specify. Scenarios are manually evaluated by Resimion if a Lecturer/trainer requests it.
